What to expect at your first class
Your first class at JaxZen Hot Yoga. Here's everything you need to know before you arrive.
- 1. Come hydrated. Drink plenty of water throughout the day before class. Avoid heavy meals right before your practice, and give yourself time to feel comfortable in the heat.
- 2. Bring the essentials. You'll need a yoga mat, a large towel, and water. Wear lightweight, breathable clothing that allows you to move freely and comfortably.
- 3. Arrive 15 minutes early. We'll get you checked in, show you around the studio, and help you settle in. Let your instructor know it's your first class and share any injuries or physical limitations.
- 4. Embrace the heat. The warmth helps your muscles relax, making it easier to explore deeper stretches and greater range of motion. Ease into each movement and avoid overstretching. Flexibility develops with time, not force.
- 5. Make the practice your own. Listen to your body, modify movements, and take breaks whenever you need to. There's no pressure to keep up with anyone else. Progress comes from consistency, not pushing past your limits.
- 6. Enjoy the final rest. Many classes end with Savasana, a few minutes of quiet stillness that allows your body and mind to settle after your practice. Give yourself this time to relax and recover.
- 7. Take your time afterward. Cool down gradually, rehydrate, and enjoy how you feel. Every class is an opportunity to learn, improve, and build a practice that works for you.
